Meet Christopher D. Stickland
Admitted to Michigan Bar in 2000 and Arizona Bar in 2001, Christopher is a seasoned attorney with over twenty years’ experience in civil litigation, including as a lead trial attorney, supervisor of outside counsel, and counseling and instructing claims departments at many of the largest insurance companies.
During his legal career, Christopher held positions with the staff counsel offices of State Farm, Zurich Insurance, and Farmers Insurance. Later, his employment with American Family Insurance provided the opportunity to attend and mediate matters in multiple states (AZ, CA, CO, NV, OR, WA) and make the ultimate decision to settle or proceed to trial. These matters regularly had an excess value of $1,000,000.
This position also included management of outside counsel, coordinating company legal positions, and maximizing favorable results in litigated and non-litigated claims, including personal, commercial, and construction defect files.
In December 2022, Christopher was inducted into the Arizona Chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
Maricopa County Judge Pro Tempore
Christopher has served as a Judge Pro Tempore for Maricopa County Superior Court since 2018 and enjoys volunteering his time to assist with hearings and settlement conferences.
Business & Family Life
In 2014, Christopher opened another business with his wife Andrea, a veterinarian. Christopher took on the operational management of a growing and thriving veterinary business. This experience has provided him with additional expertise in the issues that arise during business development, ownership, and human resources. Christopher and Andrea have three children; Cole and Aiden attend the University of Arizona, while Emelia is in high school, enjoying having her brothers out of the house!
